Join GDIT as a Laborer for a career where your growth is just as important as the mission you support.MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTAs a Laborer, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the success of various manufacturing projects supporting the US Navy. You will play a crucial role in assisting skilled tradespeople with day to day manufacturing activities. Support various fabrication shops by providing assistance to skilled tradespeople. Duties will vary day to day and will include but will not be limited to: material handling utilizing forklifts and overhead cranes, cutting raw materials to support machine shop activities, grinding, sandblasting, drilling, and general cleaning and shop maintenance. Collaborate with shop supervision and tradespeople, production planning and program managers Drive efficiency by providing support to fabrication shops as needed. Utilize various hand and power tools such as grinders, band saws, torches, plasma cutters, drills, and milling machines to prepare and stage material.WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEEDBring your manufacturing expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Laborer must have: Education: High School Diploma/GED Experience: 0+ years of related experience Technical skills: Familiarity with various hand and power tools, and a desire to learn fabrication skills. Security clearance level: Ability to obtain a secret clearance is required.
